This is about where I threw the towel in on this project last year. Tonight I almost did the same, not because I didn't have an edit I sure did, but my desktop computer slowed to a snails pace and then the Photoshop threw up a white flag of surrender--I lost all my work. I would say it was devastating, but that seems a bit much, I'll save devastating for a natural disaster not a software failure on a self-imposed assignment. This was taken with my Iphone, it's ostrich legs in case you thought it was perhaps a dinosaur. I've always been curious about this large flightless bird that stands upright and can run over 40 mph. I hate to admit this, but I have actually had a bite of an ostrich burger once. I swallowed. I can't believe I would do that, have you seen the eyelashes on this bird? How could anyone ever eat an ostrich? I still hang my head in shame, it's not like I was starving on a deserted island and the only thing I could find was a bite of ostrich burger. It's one of the things I regret in life, truly.

I will be editing a photo a day for the remainder of 2012::Project MMXII, this is my 'after', you can view the 'before' here.

Oh dear god please don't worry - once in Japan I ate... HORSE SASHIMI!!! Yes, that's RAW HORSE MEAT! Talk about regrets! Except I didn't know. My "friends" informed me it was raw beef (for the record, that's what it tasted like...). Anyway, for a girl who asked for a pony every christmas and birthday from the age 8 till the age 16, totally horse-OBSESSED, this upset me beyond words! And if it's any consolation, our "national emblem" in Australia is the kangaroo and emu - both freaquently on menus accross the country. Nice pic BTW ;)

Love this picture! I've been a huge fan of the ostrich, after seeing Swiss Family Robinson as a child. I love the race scene.

That ostrich looks like it's wearing a pair of saucy metalic leggings. I want my legs to look like that!

Erin, I feel so much better, thank you! Horse would be hard to get over, GAH! And raw at that? I can't believe people eat kangaroo, I had no idea. You really learn something new everyday!

Courtney, I have to go back and re-read, I don't remember an ostrich race, but it would make sense they're fast!

Toi, you kill me:)

I checked out the "before" - great edit! I usually take photos, and if they're not close to what I want, I don't bother with the edit. It's inspiring to see you change a photo from a snapshot into something I would hang on my wall.
