I LOVE YOU CALIFORNIA
As soon as I laid my eyes on this I got incredibly homesick. I knew it was bound to happen at some point, I just didn't know when or why it would. I am really happy with our little Southern adventure, but California was my home for so many years. I was born there all of my most precious memories have taken place there and I would be lying if I didn't admit that I missed the Golden State. How incredibly made for me is this artwork? A bear hugging the state of California? My heart may implode with emotion.
That made my heart implode and I'm not even from California. I get being homesick. I miss my friends in Kansas City a lot so I can't imagine how you feel being on the other side of the country. I think you need to buy this and put it somewhere special in your home.
Ah, Miss Toi thank you! I think it's to be expected and maybe if I wasn't it would be weirder. I agree I need to make this a print, I will get right on that!
You are incredibly brave and i don't know if I could do what you did. I get homesick more than you know, and I've never even lived more than 2 hours away from home! Cali misses you too babe! :)
We just moved back from California to Connecticut and I didn't think we would miss it...who was I kidding?? Even my darling 17 year old who could not wait to get back east won't let me vacuum the sand out of her car...and she never even liked the beach that much. This is adorable!
Thank you Andrea, I miss you too, wish I could be at the event with everyone:(
I can say this though I don't miss Los Angeles proper much,it was dirty and exhausting, but I miss Santa Monica, San Francisco, San Diego, I guess I miss the Sans, lol. That's sweet about your daughter and I never took advantage of the beach and now I wish I could go to see the ocean at a moments notice, sigh.
Oh, geez, that is adorable and even poignant. I am from California too and I miss her terribly. I left 15 yrs ago and have only fond memories. Eventually, I tell myself, I will move back and my husband can go surfing, we will camp in King's Canyon and I will walk along the shore in Santa Cruz. Sweet, sweet California, how I miss you!
We will be moving to the east coast in two weeks, and as excited as I am I know I will miss my home state. This is such an adorable ode to a place that holds wonderful memories.
Thanks for sharing!
I totally know how you feel! It's fun living in a new place, but I get so homesick for CA every now and then. That illustration perfectly represents the feeling.
