THUNDER SHIRT REVIEW
This is a photo of my girl prior to her Thunder shirt. I bought her a Thunder shirt before we left Los Angeles, just in case she got a little anxious on the cross country drive, she actually was a trooper and only had one mishap--she vomited over the entire back seat of the car. If that made you sick imagine what it was like driving with her and her smelly self for thousands of miles. The other night we had a huge thunderstorm, I've never been through anything like it and neither have my dogs. It was so loud the house felt like it was shaking and the random blasts of light from the lightening were straight out of a haunted house story. Bella was not sure what to do and took to pacing and whining, I tried everything to calm her down to no avail and then I remembered her Thunder shirt. I ran out to the closet and put it on her, we went back to bed, only I couldn't sleep because my once terrified pup was so comfortable in her shirt that she was sleeping on her back, legs splayed and snoring up a storm. The Thunder Shirt worked like a charm and it worked immediately. I was so impressed, if you saw how she was acting prior to the shirt you would have figured I was up for a long night of her weird shenanigans, but the shirt makes her sleepy, very sleepy. After another series of lightning blasts and house shaking storm rumbles I was wishing I had my own Thunder shirt to wear, people think earthquakes are scary (California having many of them), I am thinking random thunderstorms are more scary. Earthquakes don't last that long (I've been through two major ones), thunderstorms seem to go on for hours, seriously I could have used my own Thunder shirt last night. It's supposed to be worse tonight but not until 1 a.m. which should be great since I am hoping I'll be in a deep sleep by then
Welcome to the midwest thunderstorms! I hope you sleep through them - I almost never do. My kids usually do though so I'm good!
Jill they are SCARY! I think the scariest part is the whole house seems so tiny and enveloped by the storms, does that make sense? It's so dark here at night and noiseless (crickets only) so to see light and here these angry rumbles is jarring. Maybe I will get used to it? The thing I can't get over is that during the day it's almost 100 degrees! You'd never have rain and a 100 degree weather in L.A., lol.
Yes, thunderstorms in the south can be BAD...I'm not missing those! So that shirt really works?! I've thought about getting one for Billy but had heard that it was a fluke. Good to hear!
Aw, sorry it kept y'all up, but I love the southern storms! We used to sit on the porch, watching the show. Hopefully you (and your pup) will get used to them before too long. At the very least, they clear the air nicely.
Ah I love thunderstorms. You will get used to them and in fact might even look forward to them. Especially in the middle of the night all cozy in bed with the rain bearing down and distant thunder. Comforting to know you are safe in your home. I love summer thunderstorms when you can see them coming over the horizon. Sitting on the porch. And when they are gone it smells so heavenly. All wet and heavy and grassy. Someday you will enjoy them!
I recently bought the thundershirt for my little puppy too. It worked wonders, makes her so mild that she literally falls asleep straight away
oh dear! thunderstorms sound scary! I hope that you all get used to them! I'm sure there will be all sorts of things to get used to on the new coast - some pleasant, and some not so.
I'm also glad to hear that thunder shirt worked! I've been considering getting one for my own overly-sensitive and anxious pup, but was always skeptical. I trust you though! :)
Eek! Thunderstorms. As you can see, some people love them. I am not one of those people.I find hiding under the covers like a 5 year old works rather well . . . :)
