MINNETONKA

I owned a pair of white Minnetonka mocc's when I was 8.  I thought they were the moon and stars of shoes, so cool, especially with their seed beed embellishment in a ubiquitous Thunderbird pattern. Nothing says Native American quite like white mocc's and a Thunderbird thrown in for good measure, right?  I have been pining for a new pair for a while now, I bought some cheap imitations last year and they proceeded to fall apart within a week--lesson learned. I would have picked up a pair sooner but I am having trouble choosing a color.  The natural is always a safe bet but the scarlet ones are this side of sassy.  I think they are perfect for walking the girls, going to the grocery or whatever errand that concerns shoes and not thinking too hard about what I am going to wear.  I would like to wear them with a striped tissue cotton t-shirt, olive cargo jeans and this necklace to complete the ' I'm not thinking too hard about what I am wearing' ensemble.

I just read your comment in the Gifted Holiday magazine, I wanted to let you know that I want a miniature farm too!! Only I would add mini sheep to the list... and mini cows too.

Kindred Spirits!
Have a very Merry Christmas!

The red are snappy, but the gray are sure purty too. Then again... the red would look great with your dogs (of the non-foot variety). Post photos when you're wearing your new outfit. Enquiring minds want to see.

OH my gosh I BEGGED my parents for a pair of these when I was 6! I had the cream ones with the thunderbird. I was just looking at these the other day and debating whether I should get a pair!

I had those exact white ones when I was about 8. I got mine in Oklahoma from a store that sold only Native American items so I thought I was super cool. I had forgotten about those. That memory made me laugh. I want to make a road trip to Oklahoma now and get another pair!

Oh and if you are looking for skinny cargos I got the best pair ever at Target a couple of weeks ago. I can't stop wearing them. I love them more each time I put them on.

Oh, I bought my very first pair of Minnetonkas this fall, and I haven't regretted it. They're so comfortable; they're almost like wearing slippers. I think they'd look great with your imaginary ensemble too!

Jules cream is soooo much more chic than white, I was obviously buying into the hype.

Toi, I think mocc's would look great paired with the Target skinny cargo's which I NEED to have now. I may actually be able to wear my imaginary outfit!

Annie, I bet you look smashing, I saw a girl wearing a pair this a.m. and had a major tinge of envy.

P.S. Thank you for your comments! I am feeling lonely in my new neighborhood/home and it makes me so happy to 'see' your 'faces' here:)

OML! I can't believe you dragged the white moccs outta' the closet!!! I had them too!!! My boyfriends older brothers' girlfriend had them, and I had to emulate!

But, I do love mocs - just tossed a pair of 2nd hand Todds that were way beyond repair - believe me, I tried. But I wore them to the bone.

Have to give Minnetonka a look when I come stateside!

Oh my! I was 10 and living in Poland, behind the Iron Curtain. My mum brought me exactly the same white moccs from the States and I was over the moon! Felt the happiest girl in the world...
